If you’re a kid, you’re all about the Nickelodeon shows. These have changed since I was a kid. When I was growing up, there was Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Hey Dude and Double Dare. Nowadays kids watch Spongebob Squarepants, Drake & Josh, Teletubbies and Blue’s Clues.
Whether you’re from my generation or have young ones, this is one network you can always connect with regardless. Even if you don’t have cable, you can still watch all of its wonderful shows.
Try Nick Jr on Sling TV For Free
First, you must sign up for a Sling TV account at sling.com. The standard package is $20/month. This will get you terrific channels such as Food Network, ESPN, History Channel, Disney Channel and Travel Channel.
You’ll want to then add on the Kids Extra package, which is five extra dollars. This gives you the opportunity to watch Nicktoons, Teen Nick, BabyTV and Sling Kids. With all of these kids programs, your child is going to have the opportunity to grow up with some awesome role models. Sling TV offers a 7 day trial period for free, which makes it a no-brainer if you want to test it out.
Watch Nick Jr on DirecTV Now
If you decide to subscribe to DirecTV Now, which comes with a 7 day free trial by the way, you can stream live Nickeledon content as part of the ‘live a little’ package. With a DirecTV Now subscription, you can stream Nick Toons, Nick Jr and a host of other kiddie shows. You can even access kid-friendly video on demand content on DirecTV Now.
Buy Nick Shows on Amazon
You may also want to sign up for an Amazon Prime account. This is going to cost you about $99/year, but you get a vast selection of television and movie selections. Search for your favorite Nickelodeon shows, such as Dora The Explorer. You’re going to find every episode of every season at your fingertips. You’ll have to purchase each episode, even with Prime, but that’s to be expected. The benefit to having Prime is that you can watch it anywhere—home, your computer, iPhone, iPad and so forth.
Watch Full Episodes on Netflix
Netflix is another option to watch Nickelodeon shows. Netflix provides a specific section just for kids. It should appear at the end of all the log in icons. Search for Nickelodeon and you’re going to find some of your favorite shows. For instance, Hey Arnold! is on Netflix, as is Bob the Builder. Netflix adds shows all the time. If you don’t see your favorite Nickelodeon show, chances are that it’ll eventually be added to the network.
Also head over to nick.com. Here parents and their children will find popular children’s shows that stream on Nickelodeon. They can watch full episodes for free while finding additional free episodes within each show. Children can also play games on the website that are related to the shows that they watch. For instance, there’s a game called It’s A Spongebob Christmas.
Stream Nickelodeon Shows on Hulu
Finally, sign up for a Hulu account. If you don’t care about commercials, sign up for the $7.99 account. Otherwise, there is an account that will eliminate commercials for $11.99. Hulu has a long list of Nickelodeon shows from past and present.
If your children are getting bored with a specific show, this gives you the opportunity to explore different shows with them. Spongebob Squarepants and Hey, Arnold are both on Hulu. These shows are going to keep your children entertained and wanting more. As you can see, you don’t need cable to enjoy Nickelodeon. It’s much easier (and cheaper!) to live stream shows. Enjoy watching television the new, digital way!
