Are you glued to watching Kevin Can Wait, Criminal Minds, NCIS or Bull? Can’t get enough of Blue Bloods, Big Brother, The Amazing Race or 2 Broke Girls? CBS is one of my favorite networks but I’ll let you into a little secret—I don’t have cable. How am I able to watch most of these shows? Many of them I live stream over my computer and my television. Here’s how you can do it.
First, direct your browser to CBS to watch tv shows legally. Once there, you will find full episodes of all your favorite shows. If you want to watch them for free, you have a limited window to do this. This is the case ever since CBS created CBS All Access.
Generally they give you a day to watch your favorite shows until you’re asked to subscribe to the streaming network. I’m not opposed to the new network, but paying for it—in addition to Netflix, Hulu and all the others—puts extra bills in my budget that I can’t afford. When you start out, you can get one week free with CBS All Access. After that, it’s $5.99 / month with limited commercials or $9.99 / month without any commercials. You get thousands of shows and can stream on any device.
Another way to watch CBS is through Apple TV and the very popular Amazon Fire TV. Amazon Prime members can access their favorite shows for free, usually the day after they aired on the network. Many of the episodes are priced at $2.99. If you don’t purchase these often, it’s not that big of an expense. But, if you plan to purchase the whole season, you may find yourself waiting to watch the show under after the season is over. After all, these episodes won’t be available on live streaming prior to them airing on the network. A season costs more to watch, as watch, so you may watch to choose more cost effective options to watch them.
Similarly, download any of CBS’ many apps for Apple or Android. They have applications to watch full episodes of your favorite shows, such as The Amazing Race. You can also download an application to watch CBS This Morning or CBS sports. Additionally, there are a few applications that focus directly on CBS news, both national news and local news. Who needs cable when you can stream your shows directly on your phone or iPad? This is going to keep you in the loop of what’s going on when you’re on the go. It’s also wonderful for those people who don’t enjoy sitting in front of the television and watching a full DVR of recorded shows.
If sports is your interest, head over to http://www.cbssports.com/. Here you can watch live streams of your favorite sporting event. Remember to turn off your ad blocker, however, or you won’t be able to watch the program. Each program does contain advertisements but, if you’re a true sports fan, you won’t care about this. The website also contains stats and scores of previous games that have been played. Similarly. check out sports-related tweets. This is going to keep you entertained while you’re busy doing other things throughout the day.
Finally, type in your local CBS station to Google. More than likely, your local CBS news offers live streaming of their newscasts. This often means that journalists report in all throughout the day, just not at night. This is beneficial to you living within that community. It means that you will no longer miss out on anything that happens within the town or city of which you live. If you watch the newscast, you may be the first to know what is happening before anyone else. Don’t worry about cable. You don’t need it these days to watch your shows. Just log on and you’re all set to go.
